I like the idea of having a blog, I like the idea of having a journal and the two are almost one and the same. I need a place to catalogue and organise my thoughts and plans and this will give me a place to expose myself both for my own benefit and for that of others that may be interested.
This type of public openness is a way to experiment with expressing myself in a new way. I chose the awesome layout because it sounded awesome.
I just finished watching Indie Game: the movie which I would highly reccomend to anyone interested in video games, video game development or success stories. The developers in the movie put so much of themselves on the line. Each game is a reflection of their personal self. Their dreams and desires are all on the line and each of them feels like a complete failure spiralling out of control right up until that moment of validation when they realise their work has been worthwhile. They persist because they must, because they want to and because they believe in what they are doing. The validation of success is important but they want that validation as a product of their work.
